Angie Stone: an introduction and tour dates
Angie Stone is a singer, songwriter, self taught keyboardist and an occasional actress. In the early ‘80s, Stone was a member of an all-girls hip hop band called The Sequence. Angie B. (as she was known then) also worked with Matronix and Lenny Kravitz before her eventual rise to fame with Vertical Hold.
As the lead vocalists on Vertical Hold’s song “Seems You’re Much Too Busy” (1993), Angie gained more attention and eventually produced a solo album of her own: Black Diamond (1999).
Brown has continued to work with other singers and songwriters, including Lenny Kravitz’s cousin, Gerry DeVeaux and D’Angelo.
Since Black Diamond, Angie has since released four more solo albums: Mahogany Soul (2001); Stone Love (2004); The Art of Love & War (2007); and Unexpected (2009).
On Sept. 11, Angie Stone will be performing with Charlie Wilson at the Chastain Park Amphitheatre in Atlanta, and on Sept. 18, she will also perform with Eric Benet at the Ntelos Pavilion at Harbor Center in Portsmouth, Va.
